Christian Scott aTunde Adjuah

Check out Diaspora by Christian Scott Atunde Adjuah

I've been really vibing to this album for the past few weeks so I've decided to share it here for you to check out. It's called Diaspora and it's by New Orleans trumpeter Christian Scott Atunde Adjuah. I love how it combines haunting melodies with popular rhythms and interesting drum textures. The musicianship throughout the album is also very engaging. Take a listen below. I'd love to know what you think. Please let me know of any good music you've come across lately in the comments.

Also I'm preparing a new series of concerts for my supporters on Patreon (my patrons). These concerts will be live streamed and I'll be able to acknowledge and communicate with you all in real time. I'll also be including a lot of background stories and advice pertaining to music.

If you want to participate in these live steams please click the Become a Patron button underneath the video. I'm about halfway to the goal I need to start producing the concerts. So I would greatly appreciate a small pledge of $5 from you. Thanks!

Christian Scott aTunde Adjuah at The Jazz Kitchen

This past weekend I checked out an awesome performance by trumpeter Christian Scott aTunde Adjuah. He's pioneering a new subgenre of jazz that he calls Stretch Music. It's a style that absorbs musical language from as many cultures and genres as possible. During the show Christian said he seeks to remove the lines that separate music into multiple genres so they all become one. It's a very interesting concept and made for a great performance. Check it out in the video below and let me know what you think!
